Raceapacer Ownership Promotion

30 January 2009

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) has announced an exciting promotion for BIG6 Hunter Cup night under the auspices of its new ownership initiative www.raceapacer.com.au.

Every adult attending the BIG6 Hunter Cup – which headlines the final night of the Sky Channel Nights Of Glory at Moonee Valley on Saturday, February 7 – has the chance to win a 5% share in the regally-bred yearling Rhodium Castle.
The pacing filly is a Western Terror half-sister to Group 1 winners Blatant Lie and Keppel Bay and will be trained at Melton by 2006 Hunter Cup winning horseman Andy Gath.
She is one of three yearlings leased and syndicated via www.raceapacer.com.au over recent months and those heading trackside can win the last of 20 shares available in the stylish filly.
In addition to a 5% leased share in the filly, the prize includes the payment of training and veterinary fees, HROA membership and a Harness Racer subscription for the duration of the lease which runs from February 1, 2009 to August 31, 2011.
To enter, patrons over 18-years of age will need to fill out the coupon in the BIG6 Hunter Cup racebook and lodge their entry before 9pm in the competition barrel located in the www.raceapacer.com.au marquee outside the Raceday Office.
A total of 14 names will then be randomly drawn from the barrel on the main presentation dais prior to the BIG6 Hunter Cup, with each assigned a runner in the nation’s richest handicap. The person assigned the eventual winner will claim the coveted share in Rhodium Castle.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to race one of the best-bred yearlings in the land for nothing so we expect a terrific response to the promotion,” HRV CEO, John Anderson, said.
“The filly is a half-sister to last season’s richest two-year-old earner Keppel Bay who won the Breeders Crown and APG finals and Blatant Lie who won two Vicbred Super Series finals so she has the right pedigree and an astute trainer to make it on the track.
“This promotion is being conducted by www.raceapacer.com.au, our new initiative aimed at promoting the ownership experience and encouraging new owners to enter the sport.
www.raceapacer.com.au is a one-stop shop for everything you need to know on harness racing ownership, from how to get involved to what to expect once you’ve made the commitment.”
