BIG 6 Hunter Cup

Australian Harness Racing's richest handicap, the 2010 BIG6 Hunter Cup promises to be a sensational night of racing, with a number of big stars expected to line up for one of the world's most prestigious harness events.

First run for $4000 in 1949, the BIG6 Hunter Cup has been won by many of the greats of the sport, including Minuteman, Pure Steel, Gammalite, Popular Alm, Preux Chevalier, Village Kid, Elsu, Blacks A Fake and last year’s winner Mr Feelgood.

Speed, stamina, skill and courage are attributes that set champions apart in this race, with challenging handicaps making conditions brash over the journey, just shy of two miles.

Once again carrying a hefty winner’s cheque, this season’s race will be worth $400,000, the richest harness racing event on Victoria’s calendar.
